Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted. These are words in the Bible we seek in difficult times when we lose a role model as special as Daddy

In the 70's I recall how you took care of myself my brother so many times when your elder brother my father was away working abroad. Going back home, the joy and happiness we felt were pure and immense.

Why do I call you "Daddy?"

You taught me right from wrong and to listen to the elderly when wisdom was being imparted. Acknowledge mistakes and change them, be loyal and respectful. These qualities I have because I had you in my life from the beginning.

Every 27th July we celebrated together as we share the same birthday, and I'm so happy I share this date with a special daddy, a father to everyone who knew you. Life is short but your legacy lives on. A perfect father who will take care of everyone, who appreciated everyone, and gave the needy hope.

I share this with everyone who reads; my biological father traveled for six months out of the country in 1979. That was an amazing period as I found a new daddy. In secondary school, I enjoyed the best visits from a father. I was happy my father had a genuine brother and was so proud I had a daddy in Dada Adjei.

It is a huge loss you are not with us today and as a family, this is our moment to mourn and acknowledge the real memories of the special dad you are.

Daddy, we will continue your unblemished work of goodwill, and show compassion to each other.

In gratitude, I'd like to say "Thank you." You were our best. May your beautiful soul rest in perfect peace.
